CERTIFICATIONS & Achievements
Committed to a high standard of excellence, Timber Products commitment to quality spans more than just our products. We are proud to hold numerous reputable certifications from associations with high standards known and respected around the world.

SUSTAINABLE FORESTRY INITIATIVE (SFI)
SFI certification means than we practice responsible forestry on the lands we manage. Its requirements include measures to protect water quality, biodiversity, wildlife habitat, species at risk, and forests with exceptional conservation value. Michigan-California Timber Company has been audited and certified by PricewaterhouseCoopers as being in full compliance with the SFI Forestry Standards.

FOREST STEWARDSHIP COUNCIL® (FSC)
FSC® certification (FSC-CO213249) ensures that our products come from responsibly managed forests that provide environmental, social, and economic benefits. There are two types of FSC® certifications available: Forestry Management and Chain-of-Custody (CoC). Timber Products has CoC certification, which guarantees the production of FSC®-certified products. FSC® Chain of Custody certification allows companies to label their FSC® products, so consumers can choose products that support responsible forest management.

COMPOSITE PANEL ASSOCIATION ECC CERTIFICATION
Sustainability Standard was developed by the Composite Panel Association (CPA) for manufacturers of composite wood or agrifiber-based panels made with particle board, medium density fiberboard (MDF), hardboard, engineered wood siding, and engineered wood trim. The standard includes using the CPA Carbon Calculator to assess the lifecycle and carbon footprint of composite panels made at a particular manufacturing plant. Both Ampine and Medford Particleboard meet this standard.

LEED V4 Credit Support
Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) is the most widely used green building rating system in the world. The LEED Credit System is a global-recognized framework for healthy, efficient, and cost-saving green buildings. Timber Products qualifies for LEED Credits in the Low-Emitting Materials Category.

California Air Resources Board (CARB)
The California Air Resources Board (CARB) has set goals for attaining and maintaining healthy air quality, protecting the public from exposure to toxic air contaminants, and providing innovative approaches for complying with air pollution rules and regulations. All Timber Products facilities are CARB-Exempt, and our products meet the stringent CARB Phase 2 emission standards for formaldehyde emissions from composite wood products, including hardwood plywood, particle board and MDF.

Recycled Content Certification SCS
Global Services Recycled Content Certification allows manufactures to demonstrate their commitment to conservation of natural resources and meeting consumer demand for sustainable materials. Recycled content certification can help products contribute to LEED credits and is recognized in environmentally preferable purchasing programs.

No Added Formaldehyde Certification SCS
Global Services is an independent third party certification body qualified to validate No Added Formaldehyde claims. The SCS NAF Certification indicates that no added compounds that use urea or phenol formaldehyde were added in manufacturing. Timber Products has obtained this certification for Ampine Particleboard product lines, including APEX and Encore.
