Safety on the Spot
If you have been inside a Timber Products mill recently, you have probably seen the signs or an employee wearing a shirt with the slogan, “Think Safe, Work Safe, Home Safe” on it. These signs and shirts serve as reminders for all employees to work safely to ensure not just their own wellbeing, but the wellbeing of those around them. Safety is a vital component in ensuring every step is taken to reduce on the job injuries and keep the mills running.
With this slogan in mind, Table Rock Composite Specialties is gearing up to start the new year with “increase safety awareness” at the top of their New Year’s resolutions. Starting January 1st, they will be rolling out “Safety on the Spot” a safety incentive program to encourage safe behaviors in the mills and reward those who go out of their way to do so. Cards are given away to those who are “spotted” going above and beyond for safety which then allows that person to get a free food item at the break room store. Each month, once they use the card, it is collected by their supervisor and entered into a drawing for an Amazon gift card. Whoever receives the most cards by the end of the year will receive $250, a WWE style champion belt (pictured below), and a parking spot of their choosing for an entire year.There is always more to be done on the safety front, and we look forward to seeing the positive outcomes of this safety competition!
