The Timber Products sales team approached this year’s Association of Woodworkers & Furnishing Suppliers (AWFS) Fair with a rush of anticipation and excitement. AWFS was the first in-person trade show the team attended in a year and a half. The team was excited to reconnect and have the in-person conversations we have missed since early 2020.
The 2021 AWFS show was held July 20-23 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. It featured North America’s largest gathering of woodworking equipment and technology, as well as the largest selection of hardware, tooling, components, power tools, manufacturing software, lumber, panel and construction material. According to organizers, the 2021 fair had approximately 13,500 attendees from more than 45 countries. This was down significantly from previous shows that have seen more than 18,000 attendees.
The Timber Products team attending AWFS included more than 15 people. The company used the show to go live on a newly redesigned website as well as to roll out updated product branding. A customer reception was held on the evening of July 21 and had good attendance.
“Although overall attendance at the show was down from past years, quality customer meetings and interaction was excellent,” said Pat Lynch, VP of Sales for Timber Products.
Given the continued presence of the COVID pandemic, show attendance was lower than expected. It was still an excellent opportunity to get back out and connect with customers
